    Below is a visualization and description of some of the most significant incidents of political violence in Nigeria from July 30 to August 5, 2022. This update also represents violence related to Boko Haram in Cameroon, Chad, and Niger. These incidents are included in the Nigeria Security Tracker.

    • July 30: Oil bunkerers killed one police officer in Yenegoa, Bayelsa.
    • July 30: Gunmen killed three police officers and 5 vigilantes in Ajokuta, Kogi.
    • July 30: Sixteen bandits and two others were killed during a clash between the bandits and vigilantes in Wase, Plateau.
    • July 30: Bandits abducted fifty in Birnin-Gwari, Kaduna.
    • July 30: Police officers killed three kidnappers in Maiha, Adamawa.
    • July 30: Bandits abducted "scores" (est. at forty) in Umu-Nneochi, Abia.
    • July 31: Suspected herdsmen killed eight in Jos South, Plateau.
    • July 31: Boko Haram killed three and kidnapped six in Gassol, Taraba.
    • August 1: Police officers killed one suspected Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) militant in Oshimili North, Delta.
    • August 1: Gunmen killed seven in Owerri West, Imo.
    • August 2: Bandits killed five in Mangu, Plateau.
    • August 2: Gunmen killed one police officer in Jema'a, Kaduna.
    • August 2: Gunmen killed one and kidnapped one in Kaura, Kaduna.
    • August 2: Kidnappers killed two abductees in Ogbomosho North, Oyo.
    • August 2: One soldier and "many" (est. at twenty) Boko Haram militants were killed during a clash in Bama, Borno.
    • August 3: Kidnappers abducted three in Ajaokuta, Kogi.
    • August 3: Soldiers killed one police inspector in Ojo, Lagos.
    • August 3: Gunmen killed one police officer in Ika South, Delta.
    • August 3: Bandits killed three and abducted thirteen in Batagarawa, Katsina.
    • August 3: Military airstrikes killed twenty-eight Boko Haram militants in Gwoza, Borno.
    • August 3: Boko Haram killed three in Konduga, Borno.
    • August 4: A police officer killed two gunmen in Owerri West, Imo.
    • August 4: Kidnappers killed one and abducted four in Owo, Ondo.
    • August 5: Gunmen killed two in Osogbo, Osun.
    • August 5: Bandits killed two police officers and four others, and kidnapped three in Ajaokuta, Kogi.
    • August 5: Political violence led to three deaths in Ede, Osun.
