Mozambique: Bernardo Lidimba appointed spy agency SISE new chief, with Joia Haquirene his deputy

    President Filipe Nyusi this Tuesday (31) appointed Bernardo Tshombe Constantino Lidimba to the post of Director General of the State Intelligence and Security Service (SISE). Joia Haquirene was appointed to the position of Deputy Director General of SISE

    Lidimba, who takes over from his dismissed predecessor Júlio dos Santos Jane had served as Head of State Protocol between 2016 and 2018 and was then appointed High Commissioner to Kenya, a position he held until 2020.

    In a separate development, Nyusi appointed Joia Haquirene, former SISE National Director for State Security, to the position of Deputy Director General of SISE.
