    Colonel Bartosz Jarmuszkiewicz was appointed by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki to the position of the head of the Foreign Intelligence Agency. Previously, he was the deputy head of the Internal Security Agency.

    Jarmuszkiewicz's candidacy was positively assessed by the president, the college for secret services and the committee for secret services. "On August 8, 2022, the Prime Minister recalled Mr. Piotr Krawczyk from the position of the Head of the AW, Mr. Piotr Krawczyk, who resigned for personal reasons," the official statement said.

    The spokesman for the minister of the special services coordinator, Stanisław Żaryn, said on Monday (August 8) that Jarmuszkiewicz "is an officer with many years of operational experience and a graduate of an officer course for intelligence officers."

    "He started his service in the UOP / ABW in 1997. He completed the officer course at the Ośrodek Kadr Wywiadu (OKKW) in Stare Kiejkuty. From the beginning of his service in UOP / ABW he was involved in operational work. He has many years of professional experience in middle and senior management positions in in the area and at the headquarters "- the profile of the new head of AW.

    From May 20, 2020, Jarmuszkiewicz was the deputy head of the Internal Security Agency, where he supervised, inter alia, counterintelligence department. In 2015-20, he held managerial positions there, including director of the Central Training and Education Center of the Internal Security Agency in Emowo near Warsaw.
