A tweet by President William Ruto not recognizing the Sahrawi Democratic Republic as an independent state has been deleted.

Ruto had stated in a tweet the Kenya has rescinded its decision to recognise Sahrawi as an independent state.

He cancelled the recognition after a meeting with an envoy from Morocco.

"Kenya rescinds its recognition of the SADR and initiates steps to wind down the entity’s presence in the country," Ruto said.
