Uganda: Ebola death toll jumps to 11

    The Ministry of Health has Friday confirmed  four new cases of Ebola in Mubende district, bringing the cumulative number of confirmed cases to 11.

    The Ministry through its spokesperson Emmanuel Ainebyoona also revealed that 3 new deaths were recorded, since yesterday, bringing the total number of cumulative deaths to 11.

    These include  those that have been ascertained, and those which are suspected to be Ebola.

    Of the 11 deaths, Ainebyoona says 8 were from the community whereas 3 are facility based.

    “Currently, there are 25 cases on admission at the health facility, out of which 6 (six) are confirmed while 19 (Nineteen) are suspected for EVD,” he said.

    “The Ministry of Health Rapid Response Teams remain on ground to list and follow up contacts to the confirmed cases. Cumulatively, a total of 58 contacts have been listed.”

    Meanwhile, Health Minister Dr Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero is set to hold the National Task Force in Mubende Council Hall, tomorrow, Saturday 24″ September, 2022.
